The Athlete of the month, for the month January is.... Jack MGreavie!!
From Thailand.. To PB!
That was the story of Jack’s December to January!
HM PB: 1:21:01!!
I always say, we’re not elite athletes or paid professionals so we need to enjoy the finer things in life. Too much play and it tends to be detrimental to our running. Too little play and it sometimes takes the enjoyment of the sport away.
Huge Kudos to Jack, for getting the balance of play and work just right.
He went away to Thailand from the 2nd to the 27th of December. Returning within 8 weeks of his big Seville target. We made a decision that the holiday would be all about getting in some quality, while maximizing his time there too. So we decided to implement a reduced volume and mileage plan for these few weeks.
This seemed to work very well for Jack. After returning back for just 10 days, he smashed out a very impressive half marathon PB at the BA playground, Battersea park.
Just goes to show you that when you get the balance right, you can achieve great things!
Jack has also recently started hosting the Monday social runs which I assume will pick up nicely the more towards summer we start heading.
Jack, it’s just a couple of weeks to go until Seville marathon!
You’ve put in the work, are in mighty fine shape, looked smooth at track and all is lining up for you have a good day!
Perhaps a cheeky trip to Thailand between then and now would do you the world of good again 😉
We know a marathon is a marathon. You have done all the right things and put yourself into a very strong position. I can’t wait to see it play out!
Keep up that winning attitude mate!
It has been a great journey to date and I’m proud of you.
ONWARDS AND UPWARDS!!
Who will be the athlete of the month for February??
Coach Nick
